I've got my CNPS9500 on my E6600 installed, its been on a day or so now and my temps are 37 at idle to 45 under load (45 is the highest I've seen it go). I was idling at 50C with stock.

So what are you all getting with yours?

Those are pretty good temps actually. Whats your ambient temp? Hows your case airflow? Your temps might go 2 degrees or so lower in about 2 weeks (happened to me with AS5/Freezer 64Pro on my AM2 rig)

I have not OCed at all yet. It is 75F in my house now. I'm just checking to make sure I did not install it improperly or anything, I'm happy with the temps but I thought it would be a bit lower.

I have a 120 in the lower front and a 250 on the side for intake, then output I have a 120 in the back (which the CNPS9500 is blowing right into) and then two 90's one by the PSU on the back and one at the top middle.

Is it better to have all of them blowing out or all in? More air flow into the case or out of the case?

Mine was idling at 37 - 39 but now it won't go below 41. Should I tighten the heatsink down more?

It depends on the board guys!

Gigabyte usually reports lower than usual temperature so you get people claiming temperatures below 30c and even better than others using Water cooling setups.

Asus, instead, reports higher temperatures than normal in some of their boards.

The Intel Badaxe board is also know for doing the same.

Most people's temperatures I've seen, run Idel in the 30's and under load in the high 40's to mid 50's, so I'd say your OK.

I had a zalman and it wouldn't work that well under load while overclocking so I had to replace it with a Thermalright Ultra 120 (better cooler, more expensive)

Same for me. The Zalman is fine for my X2 system, but I needed something more for my E6400 at 3.2

Whats a better cooler then? I'd like to get my Core2 up a bit more, not now, but in a few months.

CPU temps confuse me sometimes; especially when people are reporting 10-15 degree difference with similar specs. For instance, on my old ASUS M2N-E (junk) I got 29 idle and 35 with both Core Temp and Speed Fan. On my C51, with the same two programs I am getting 37 Idle and 45 load. These are with the same components (save for motherboard) and proper applications of AS5 with my AC64 Pro. I wish these companies would come up with some kind of standard...

Room temperature: 76F/24C (wall thermometer)
CPU idle temperature: 27C (motherboard sensor)
CPU load temperature: less than 40C (motherboard sensor)

Motherboard: Asus P5W-DH Deluxe
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.40GHz (266x9 1.30Vcore)
CPU Heatsink: Zalman CNPS9500-LED @ 7 volts
CPU Thermal Grease: Artic Silver 5 (properly applied thin layer)
Case Fans: 1x120mm intake, 1x120mm exhaust

Personally, I'm quite happy with my CNPS9500. It's quiet, looks cool, and works well.
