one of the reasons i went with asus a7n8x was because the socket was slightly lower in relation to the PSU. abit nf7 also has that stupid northbridge fan that you don't have to deal with on the a7n8x.
anyway. it's going to depend largely on the type of case you have. i have an antec slk3700 knockoff, and it fits perfectly on my mobo, and would also fit perfectly on an nf7 board.
conclusion: it will depend on the case. don't worry about the northbridge heatsink getting in the way.
In order to put the CNPS7000A, you need to cut off the outer hole on one of those protruding things. If not, it will be in the way of a capacitor. Even with it cut off, the other piece does move the capacitor a bit, but it works.
just noticed this: the main problem is the white clip is too big to fit with the capacitors in the way. why can't you just swap the blue clip with the white clip? theoretically that should not be a problem. anyone tried this?
