I like how the news acts as if this is something new the kids are doing. Using shorthand for messages dates back as long as electrical messaging has existed.

It seems only the most illiterate fuckwats use that stupid ass acronym, and it makes me just shake my head at anyone that would shake their head when their own writing is the that of an 8-year old.

Don't think the author knows what an acronym is. As obnoxious as "bae" is, it's not an acronym.
