It's all relative. 5.6 was very low compared to the rates in the 80's.

5.6 is historically and low and very near a theortical low of what unemployment can be. It has been lower than 5% but that is not level than can be sustained long term. 5.6% unemployment is not a sign of a bad job market.

A person I know just went on unemployment. He said they told him at the unemployment office that 2-3 years ago they had roughly 500-600 available jobs in that office. Now they have 80. It is foolish for folks to put a spin on the job market. Now you have folks saying that as a country we're "under educated". Yea ok

The Rich will say and do anything to change the subject to take off the heat.
On no! One person that he knows went on unemployment :( Our economy sucks because one person is unemployed. WHY THE FVCK CAN THE ONE PERSON NOT FIND A JOB???????? IT'S THE RICH PEOPLE'S FAULT! It's a conspiracy to keep that one person out of work. Dave, maybe you should get an education (or even a JOB???) rather than sitting at home everyday in your boxers posting on these forums.

You're wasting your breath on me, say it to the face of millions that are out of work, I dare you to say it to the face of just one besides me. I bet you wouldn't.

Dave, you don't by chance happen to work for a patent lawyer, do you? Why you ask, well some guy called up boortz and was pretty much spewing the same crap as you do. This guy evidently had a BS in physicology(sp??) and was complaining that he couldn't make a decent wage from his degree. Trying to blame it on everyone but the one that he sees in the mirror every morning.

I've told many people that became unemployed to suck it up and go hit the bricks and bang on doors - because I WAS THERE once(not by choice). I suggest you do the same. Also people have to be willing to move or apply for a "lessor" job. Hell, we have a nuclear Engineer working here as an Automation Engineer. Is she "underemployed"? Or did she chose to work here instead of moving to where there are Nuclear Engineering jobs;) If someone who has been unemployed for an extended period of time and was sitting across from me - I would say the same things I say here and a lot more since I would know a bit more about thier individual situation.
There are jobs out there for people willing to work. Nothing is "handed" to people anymore - the bubble bursting should have woken people up to that....but I guess not.
