CNN: some info/links regarding global warming

It's something to ponder, for sure. And interesting that the U.S. and Australia are the ONLY major industrialized nations that haven't signed the Kyoto Protocol which calls for a minor reduction in CO2 production. Funny thing is, Bush cites economic concerns, but cutting CO2 production saves money in the long run.

Lots of things save money in the long run, but we're pinched right now. As I've said before, environmental regs should get tougher when the economy is good and remain stagnant when it's not. Common sense from an engineering economics point of view at least.

Wrong.

The U.S. signed on 12 Nov 1998.
Australia signed on 29 Apr 1998.

Perhaps you are thinking of ratification.

The U.S. Senate voted against ratifying any such treaty by a 95-0 margin in 1997(105th Congress, Sres 98, Byrd(D) Resolution). Please explain how that is Bush's fault?

no, china isn't even party of the agreement to begin with. CO2 production won't be cut, it will only be shifted to china, which is why the kyoto treaty is a piece of sh!t not worth the paper it's printed on. (and why american jobs would be lost)
