HERE is the Article

This is the part that I think is stupid/wierd.

"Amid the talk of war, military movements and weapons inspections, Pope John Paul II said Monday that war with Iraq should be "the very last option."

DUH! Like no one knows this. And why does it matter what the Pope says anyway? Like Military leaders, or the country needs to consult him first. What a load of crap.

The Catholic church, like most major religion, is founded on some very good teachings and moral lessons, its just a shame people don't seem to follow those all the time.

Just like it is a shame that people actually think the Pope is "more than a man"(ie some Catholics think he divine) Right sorry to burst your bubble guys and gals but the last time I check he is just a man.

I pretty much disagree with the Catholic church on a lot of things, but I can't argue with thier respect for life and peace above all else. It would be nice if all religious leaders would preach from the pulpit about the evils of war and how it should be avoided at all costs.

I defy you to find me a major religion such as Catholicism, Islam, Judaism, Hindu, Buddhist etc. that holds Pedophelia as one of it's tenets. However, in any organization in which people are left unsupervized in a postion of moral or physical power over others abuses will happen. The Catholic church needs to deal with these serious issues of child abuse and the internal culture of denial and coverup, but that doesn't change the fact that thier core teachings of morality are vakuable just as most religions core moral teachings are valuable and in many cases common.

Ahh, so it is a case of "do as I say (preach), not as I do" kind of thing?

Not enough children to go around...besides I like pubic hair(shaved of course) on my sexual partners. Plus it's nice if you don't have to take them to Chuck E Cheese afterwards

Won't even comment on that statement, not worth the effort.

Idiot.

No, the idiots are the one that support an organization that allowed this to go on...don't hear too many pedo sex scandals occuring in the Tibetan Buddhist temples, Southern Baptist Church's, Nation of Islam or any other religion. Fact of the matter is, they tried to cover it up and even shipped pedo priests to other cities to let them get new sheep. How about a religion that adorns their places of worship with gold and gems yet allow starvation, pestilence and wickedness surround them? Most organized religions pretty much suck, but at least they don't condone child molestation until they get caught.

Your statistics don't lie. Stop trying to make them the truth.

The statistics show that Catholic priests have no more abusers than any other population, including religious leaders in other religions.
