That was a good read. Thank you.

No problem. I just get really tired of the damned liberals posting a death count and thinking our boys are just flying around from a helicopter tossing grenades out and hoping they get some kills. The media likes to do that, leave out the part about our boys getting thier asses shot all to hell, dodging bullets and RPG's while trying to win an engagement.

I felt like I was reading a chapter out of "Black Hawk Down." Thanks for the post, I'll have to mark that guy's blog.

My day at work seems a little pointless, after reading that!

Yeah, when I have a bad day, I get a conference call with management.
When our Boys get a bad day, they bury friends.

Actually "Conservative" news is considered to be more impartical. Stuff like "just the facts", no color. "Liberal" news is considered emotional. It usually shows someone crying or excited, it trys to convey an emotion with the story. Personally I like more conservative news that tells both sides of the story, something very rare in our system. An example would be the Newshour on PBS.

This of course has nothing to do with political slants in journalism. That's probably more of what you're refering to.

The slants are probably what he's talking about. True, Liberal media portrays emotions, but it's usually not the emotions of the guy out their fighting for the US and the Coalition, it's usually the emotions of the "innocent" civilian with the AK-47 in his hand..

I know...I don't agree with the war but I truly appreciate the sacrifices our soldiers are making. I just hate the idea of needless putting them in that kind of danger 🙁

Yeah, because summarizing news stories is something "liberals" do. Go read Fox News, I'm sure they ran the exact same wire story on their website. Not even to mention that I haven't heard any news station describe combat as tossing grenades out the side of a helo. Yeah, combat is crazy, respect this guy and what he's going through without demeaning it by turning it into a bizarre political tirade.

Here is the story that Fox News ran, just for reference.

BAGHDAD, Iraq ? Fierce gunbattles broke out Wednesday between Iraqi police and dozens of masked militants roaming the northern city of Mosul (search), killing 12 Iraqis and wounding 26 others, officials said.

Police confronted the militants, who were carrying assault rifles and rocket-propelled grenade launchers while moving through streets in the Bab al-Toub area of Mosul. The battle was punctuated by explosions, witnesses said.
