It's been one year since Apple's former CEO Steve Jobs passed away. Since then, more has been learned about Jobs' life and career, through various news reports and a bestselling biography.

With a year having passed, what have you learned from Jobs? Has his career path inspired yours? Good or bad, what are your thoughts on his life and legacy?

Share your iReport about what Steve Jobs taught you, or tweet it using the hashtag #stevejobstaughtme. The best responses will be featured in a CNN.com story.

Oh boy.
That its okay to steal ideas, then sue the original inventors.
That its okay to wage litigation war when you can't complete in the fair market.
That its always the customer's fault when the iDevice doesn't work.
That its okay to take advantage of state law loop holes to drive a car without a license plate. That its okay to be a billionaire and not donate a penny to any charities.
That its okay to take advantage of organ donor laws and utilize private jet to get an liver transplant ahead of others.

I was going to say steal ideas and ”patent the heck out of it”, but you beat me to it.

it's easy to sell trash iJunk to people if you use fast food style advertisement.

I have nothing against Steve Jobs, because he was a very good business man. He took a company from nothing to the most valuable business in the world. Not many people have that skill, especially that strong marketing sense.

I think he definitely gets too much credit for "reinventing" Apple though. It's not like he sat their himself with a soldering iron inventing the iPhone. He just ordered his techs to "put music on this damn phone" and they did all the work. In other words he's more Edison than Tesla. Woz was the Tesla of Apple.

We should probably be thankful he existed though. Apple wouldn't likely be here right now and MS would be stagnant on everything because they would own the OS market still without competition and crazed sales i mean. None of us would have a tablet, likely Netbooks would still be most popular with its WIndows 7 startup editions on them...actually i doubt MS would have made Vista pretty to look at, in turn W7.
It's nice when another company can force giants like MS and Intel to use their resources to keep up and accel.

The death of Mr. Jobs is a positive event. I’m sorry to break it to you like that. He was a great artist and a moral monster. And he brought us closer to the end of freedom every time he put something out [..]. Inside those fine little boxes with the bit-up apples on them [...] is a bunch of free software, tailored to give him control. [...] He screwed us every time he could and he took everything we gave him and he made beautiful stuff that controlled it’s users.

Sorry, Steve was the visionary, Woz was the guy that put the idea into action. Steve was no slouch when it came to electronics, but Woz was the guru. They were a hell of a combo, but Steve is what made Apple what it is today. Woz will even tell you that.

What did I learn from Steve? That there are a lot of loser geeks that can't acknowledge the fact that we are were we at because of ONE person, Steve.

Yeah, it's kind of funny the hate for Apple. Without Jobs, reinventing the smartphone and tablet for the masses, the haters wouldn't be enjoying their non-apple smartphones and tablets. Wonder if Google will ever invent/reinvent something and create a whole new consumer category.

In all seriousness, he taught me that one dude can do a lot. One dude can be the lynchpin of a massive entity. I get the sense that apple will be able to coast for a long time on what he seemed to be pushing for.

Honestly, that hypothetical guy isn't someone I would want to be though. There's no way he wasn't an asshole, after all. Still, look at apple before he came back to it; look at it after he came back. I really respect that, even if I don't care to (and probably can't) emulate it.

That would make a great fanboy T-shirt, misspelling and bad grammar included.

He taught me that white products show well against black turtle necks. He could have been holding a tampon applicator and in that light, against that turtle neck, it would have looked cool.

Meh, maybe we wouldn't have iPhone-style smartphones, but we'd have something else that was also awesome. Steve didn't have a monopoly on innovation OR marketing.

Anyone care to guess how many iDevices jack Burton owns?

I have a first gen iPod Nano for music and a company BlackBerry. Did you guess right?

I don't need to own ANY Apple products though to see the massive influence Steve had on the industry.

That can be said about any inventor and so if that's your argument, you're probably just not impressed by anyone.
