The game will be a "prequel" to the first Matrix movie. The W brothers wanted it not to be a replay of the movies like the LOTR games, but instead tell its own story in the Matrix world. Look for a Newsweek from about a month ago, it's got a big article on the Matrix sequels, videogames, etc.
