CNN article... maybe just a "tad" bit insensitive?

I'm not usually one to cry PC on things, in fact, I think that we are way to PC these days. However, this just seemed a bit much on the part of CNN...

Took me a second to even see it, so I would guess it's just more of an oversight than malicious.

I thought he was talking about the description at first.

Then after I read your post, I thought: it's got to be something else.

And then I saw it.

Definitely an oops blunder. Wouldn't doubt if article writer, possible headline writer, and person who chose the image are all different individuals; when looking at photos to choose from, this one probably jumped out for the girl's face and they went with it.

Girl was murdered by her stepmom and dismembered. Legs, arms, head chopped off and scattered in different places. Skull was found last year and finally identified as this girls.

Then showing a picture of the girl with a skull image right next to her. Just seemed a little "ick" to me.

Like I said, this type of stuff doesn't usually provoke a response from me, but this just hit me the wrong way for some reaosn.

CNN is usally rather monotone in their reporting. Even to the point of being irrelevant.

:(

Well it's not like they photoshopped it in there, it's just part of the family picture. /shrug

Yeah, but a simple search shows a lot of other photos that could have been used. Just seems a bit in poor taste.

All I'm saying is that a little better judgment could have been used...

I can agree with that. However, I would never have even noticed it if someone had not specifically pointed out the issue.

Took me several attempts before I understood what the OP was complaining about. As such, I see it as a much ado about nothing.
