Is it me or is the picture quality on CNN better than Fox? The feed seems to be clean. Fox, on the other hand, looks like something you'd see on the internet. FWIW, I have Time Warner Cable in NYC. Anybody noticed the difference?

CNN cleaner than Fox?

That surprises you? ;)

Seriously, it's probably the compression settings from your service provider.

How can it be the service provider? Shouldn't they just broadcast what they get?

This is commonly seen by people who have been spoon fed by the leftist CNN media machine.

They are so accustomed to bullcrap, over saturated color, eye popping contrast, agenda tainted contecnt from CNN that once they see good video and fair and balanced coverage it surprises them. Not only because they for once are witnessing good journalism, but even better they are observing quality video.

It's like when you show somebody a properly calibrated and true display they are unaccostomed to true color/sharpness/brightness. Same with FoxNews. They give the real truth, unalterted, untainted...just the facts.

No, they digitize and compress so they can fit multiple channels into a single channel band.

This is a joke, right? I mean I'm not saying CNN is fair or balanced by any means, but please, oh please, tell me that was a joke.

There have been numerous studies that show that FoxNews is the most truthfull fair and balanced coverage there is. Just google around a little.

What they get isn't what the lines across the region can handle (when combined with other channels, and then internet). Plus, they have to broadcast it on the cable lines at a certain frequency so that other channels can still be on the line. To keep all the data on that frequency and not take up too much room, the data will be compressed.

I know, that's why I mentioned it. But have you noticed it as well or is it just here in NYC or with TWC?

You're being sarcastic, right?

I bitch slapped some liberals at a party I went to last night for over-simplifying issues, I'm not into leftist porn - so don't say I'm just another leftist lamb...

You just have to be kidding if you think Fox News is "fair and balanced." Or maybe you're just brainwashed by their slogan, repeated ad nasuem for the sheep on the right?

IF you're basing your statements on Hannity & Colmes and O'Reilly that's not NEWS. That's not what makes Fox fair and balanced..

CNN just began broadcasting in HD....though nobody is ready for it. It will be part of DirecTV's package when they activate all their new HD channels later this month.

The only news channel I want to see in HD is BBC World.

alright, that's an interesting thing you bring up.

here's something else I'd like to inform you with.

both offer depressing news, overall, period.

so if you start feelin' sad 'n stuff, don't turn on the TV to watch the news.

secondly, they cover what people want to hear, dude, it's TV, they control what they think is most ammusing to it's audience, it's about profit, not sincerity or information age optimism.

last but not least, I don't keep up with CCN, I'd rather get my information from reading, it's more selective, and you don't listen to the trash that FOX finds and tries to exploit every flaw of something.

bad news excites people when watching TV, in a pshychological way. it's a tecnique they've learned from rated R movies. it's extreme, and it keeps people at the edge of their seats.

am I trash talkin' about both, literally, yes. picture quality, who cares.

CNN = Owned by Timewarner

Fox = Spanks CNN - must pay more for timewarner cable to get it.
