CNCI qualification: Well recognised/reputable?

I've been offered a two part (copper & fibre) CNCI course and qualification from Cnet. I'm not the one paying for it so I'll probably take it anyway (because free), but I haven't previously heard of this particular qual. Is it well known, and/or well regarded? Or is experience more valued than qualifications for breaking into to the data install world?

I've personally never heard of this particular certification, but with a lack of experience anything is going to make you look better. It will at least show that you are serious about learning and getting into the industry.

I've never heard of it either. All our cabling guys were BICSI certified which is pretty well known in the industry. But it looks like the company you mentioned is based in the UK so it's probably more prevalent there then in the US.

There no downside to taking it and gaining some knowledge - it can only help you in the future like Radicl mentioned.

You'll also get some hands-on experience with fiber fusions splicers which are awesome.....until you have to help terminate both ends of a 192-strand run of fiber. Then it gets old quick.
