Could this be why newegg.com is down too? arent they out of CA?

its a long shot...
very possible... newegg.com and .net are both hosted out of La Puente, CA (in LA) according to their whois.

If it had stayed out a little longer I would have been able to go home! Oh well, at least I got a 2 hour lunch out of it.

Newegg doesn't have UPS or generator backup? They run their own servers? Odd for a business so large.
Those last for 15 minutes tops, don't they ?

Newegg's location is in Rowland Heights, isn't it? There's a fair distance from RH to LA.

it's only 22 miles according to maps.google.com. Looks like RH is in orange county.

EDIT: nvm Rowland heights is in LA county.

I think it's the north-east's turn next.... I smell a 9 foot snowfall in PA coming...

We just had a huge power outage a year or so ago (*cough* Ohio *cough*) that somehow affected most of the Northeast except my house. I think we had a blizzard in recent years too. I think it's time for the midwest to get what's do... I'm looking in the direction of Detroit.

Pshh, the midwest gets a blizzard atleast once a year. Not to mention all of our tornados.
