Hi there i was Just interested in this 17" LCD for Gaming. Its an 8ms one with nice

specs & attractive pricing of Around Rs.15,000($330 approx)

check the specs here
http://www.cmv.com.tw/en/product.asp?pid={7D0F23D1-529E-4152-8FD9-E18B9FF7C33C}

The"d" model has a DVI port as well. Just wanted to know if someone has some

Experience on the Product or not.

I had one Question, i do not have a Good Graphics card at the moment. But im

sure to buy an ATi X800 soon. I do not have a DVI out port on my mobo, is there a

DIGITAL to ANALOG converter that can make me connect my DV LCD to the analog

RGB out on my MOBO just as u get DVI - to Analog converter

thx

The CT-720D comes with a VGA port as well as a DVI port. The VGA cable also comes included (as well as a DVI cable), so you shouldn't have to worry about which type of connection to make.

It was reviewed by HardwareZone a while back:

http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/view.php?cid=1&id=1363

The article mentions a flicker problem with the monitor using a test pattern. It got worse when DVI was used, but doesn't appear in any normal use, only when the test pattern was shown. I'm going to be emailing them today to try to clear that up, because I think it might simply an inversion issue. All monitors (should) use inversion to prevent damage to the liquid crystals, so all monitors (should) have an inversion pattern whereby the screen will flicker. I'm thinking they might've simply hit upon the right inversion pattern when testing out the CT-720D. You can read about those patterns (as well as see which one your LCD monitor uses) here:

http://techmind.org/lcd/index.html (scroll down halfway to the inversion section)

We have one sitting in our lobby, but it's not out for distribution in the U.S. yet, so no idea on how gamers etc. feel about it. Personally, LCD monitors have already far surpassed my "good enough to use" standards so I won't be of much help. Want me to ship out our demonstration model? Just kidding.

Note: I am an employee of Amptron, which is the U.S. distributor for CMV and Polyview monitors.
