I'm having problems with a friends computer it's a PII233 and it's about 3 years old. It counts the memory and then says cmos error press F1 to enter setup or F2 to reset to defaults and continue. If you press F2 it just says wait... and does nothing. I entered coms and the clock was counting up from 0, so I figured the battery might be dead. New battery makes no diff. It has auto detect and as far as I can tell everything looks normal in coms. I didn't think to take a boot disk with me so I couldn't do anything else. I'm going back over there tomorrow morning (sat) and take a boot disk and see if I can boot to A: and then get to C: In the mean time I need some advice on what to look for. This is a new one for me.
They said they installed aol 6.0 or something like that recently. I asked if they'd noticed the clock loosing time and they said yes. That's all I know.

Thanks!!!
Dave
