CMOS battery's for laptops?

If I took one apart, would I find this? I'd assume so but I'm not sure if its easy to replace or replaceable at all... I thik its built in/soldered in to teh motherboard... I dunno but I remember talking about this 6 months ago and I seem to remember coming up with the answer that its non replaceable and does exist.

My real question is that if I took apart an old laptop or new one could I easily replace a bad CMOS battery and is it standard?
 
If the laptop is tooo old then the battery might not be in production anymore. Just like what happened to me today. Well I went out and bought another 3V battery which has the same voltage as the old one. Well it works :Q
 
Check the manufacturer's homepage. Like IBM's all you need to remove is a cover under the laptop or at the bottom of the laptop and will give you access to the CMOS Battery. Some you will have to remove the KB to access it. Yes, it's easily replaceable. The question is if it's accessible.
