Hi. For the past few days, since Thrusday night, my P4S533 boots up to a screen with the following error
CMOS checksum error. Default loaded. CMOS battery failed. I replace the battery from my Asus P4B266
and it still gives me the same error. Do I have a bad board ? Once you hit "del" keys to enter the BIOS
and save the setting then it works fine afterward. Thanks for any input.

If you replaced the cmos battery with a fresh, new battery, then you might have a short somewhere on the mobo, so I recommend you RMA the motherboard and get a replacement.

I got that too before. It had nothing to do with my battery or board being bad it was something to do with a bios setting.I wish I could remember what it was.Check here to see what the problem may relate too.It could be bios setting, battery, hardware or other.I think it might be a setting you have enabled in your bios.Example, having your onboard sound enabled when you are using a sound card.Matter of fact, that may have been my problem at the time.CMOS Checksum Error

Obelix, I was having that issue at first w/ my board and poped in a brand-new [Duracell 2032 from Staples] battery and have not seen the issue since. Hope this helps :)
