Biostar TA760G M2+ motherboard I have been running 24/7 last year as a HTPC and net storage was frozen with no video when I checked it this morning. No response to anything from the keyboard, ctrl alt del etc., held the power button down for a few seconds and it shut down. Waited a bit, clicked the power button and booted to the Windows 3 choices screen, I picked normal, and it completed booting fine. I didn't start any programs, just looked at a desktop folder, moved a file out of it and deleted the folder.
System idled a few minutes then the video (onboard HD3000) went nuts, like a program was running in the video memory, scrolling patterns, and no response to keyboard. Held the power button down until it powered off, waited a few seconds, clicked power no video no suggestion anything on the motherboard is doing anything.
Checked the Athena 380 power supply, its fine.
Pulled all the cards and disconnected all drives.
Reseated ram simms.
Checked cmos battery, dead, replaced with fresh cell and performed the cmos reset.
No change, fans come on, cpu fan "sounds" like it might be in a lower speed mode, normally its full speed at boot and slows down when cool and quiet kicks in as windows starts. Drives cycle if powered, but nothing like booting is going on and no video.
Someplace around here I have POST diagnostic card, will pick up another tomorrow if I can't find it, but I am thinking this MB is toast, and I need this system back up and the 2TB of raid mirror going again, so any suggestions for a fast drop in replacement? Fry's and Micro Center are both local to me.
Thanks
