thats going to be painful slow acceleration.

somewheree around 7 seconds to 60, that isn't bad at all. better than most cars on the road.

I don't think I'll ever be the type to buy a roadster (although if I had insane amounts of money, who knows) - but with that said, I think Pontiac makes pretty good cars (I searched for over a month all over the state to find the one I'm driving now) and the Solstice definitely looks nice. :)

Even a non-MS Miata can run a mid-high 15s for $22k.
Got a link to that? Not many of the base Miata's reviews include 1/4 mile times

And don't forget that 1/4 mile time is far from the most important factor when it comes to roadsters...

FWIW: :p

I am disappointed in the trunk. I wish they went with Miata type design instead of savaging the trunk just to have it cover the folded softtop.

Yep - because that's usually people's first impression of a small, sporty, fun roadster - how much trunk space it has
The Miata guys are really grasping at straws because of the Solstice, aren't they? ;)

Come on...can't all roadster drivers just get along? :)

Yay, another new car for me to pick on :)

It'll be close. I really think it'll run 15's of some variety.

On the other hand, I'm having tons of fun beating up on A4's:D:cool:

EDIT: I agree that for a roadster a soft-top would be far more appropriate a 'la S2000, Miata, Z4, Boxster, MR-S, etc.

I like the look, esp of the Saturn Sky.
But come on, it's a porker, and it only seems practical as a second car.

Looked it up awhile ago... for some reason, I cannot find a timeslip for a stock Miata on Google. Bah, search for it yourself. :p

And yeah, it was just a point of reference... 1/4 time is far from everything, roadster or not. Until the car is actually out and about, though, any comparison is just hypothetical anyway.

Honda S2000 is about $32k, so that's definitely a step out of the entry-level range. Beautiful car though. :p

Yeah...Roadster =! daily driver

Not a chance. Hopefully the OP has a pickup or a sedan sitting in his garage already...

Not a chance.

My friend had a Miata as his only car for several years. But it did have at least some trunk space, and it was easier to access.

My car was the only one I had during college and until August of last year...but I didn't drive every day and didn't have to do a whole lot of moving

Should be fine for a weekend car...From personal experience:

What can fit in a 4.0 cu ft trunk
Carry-on luggage for 2 passengers
Golf bags and shoes for 2 passengers
Enough food and drink for a 2-person picnic
dual 8" subwoofer or 12" subwoofer and amps

What cannot fit in a 4.0 cu ft trunk
Check-in luggage
Surfboard or body board
Any JL W7 subwoofer
Enough food for a barbecue
Midgets
