Cmedia vs Phillips for sound ?

looking to buy a cheap soundcard...bottom end..nothing muhc..just for playing mp3s through a 3-piece system


theres this for 25$ and the Phillips Seismic Edge for 20$ shipped...


which one sounds better? with good compatibility?

Be careful with the Seismic Edge, there are two versions, the PSC704 and PSC705. The PSC704 is out of production, and driver support has been cut. The drivers for Win9X are excellent (only supports EAX1 & A3D), but the drivers for Win2K/XP are lacking development and support only 2 speakers with limited 3D sound. The PSC705 is a excellent option, because it has the same ThunderBird Avenger DSP as the Acoustic Edge, and has great driver support.

The C-media is a good budget card, and has good drivers, supporting all API's through Sensaura.
