I think I am going to have to stop trying to get my Sonata to fit everything =) It could be done, but I'm not sure I know how I want everything done as of yet - which is a problem.

My question is, can the Stacker be a quiet case, and can cable manage be clean in such a large case?

I think that's about it.

P.S. Another reason for the stacker is that I will be able to fit my triple 120mm rad inside the case rather than above or below it.

I am trying to decide between the Antec Sonata that I currently have and a CM Stacker that I can get for $110 shipped.

My CMStacker isn't quiet, but I think it has something to do with the 18 hard drives, 8 high speed fans, and massive power supply.

Hmm. 18 HDD = Scuzz I assume? Paired with Deltas and a server quality PSU.

Nice loud setup!

I have a CM Stacker and it's not going to fit a 3 120mm rad......I tried it. Unless You take out the HD cage and use rails for Your HD and use only 1-2 You cant' get in a triple 120mm rad. That said, Mine isn't really that loud but since it has that open side panel it's not as quite as My other case. I just bought a 12" round case window for that side panel and I'll tell You how it is when I get it and install it.
I'm going to use a push/pull system on the Black Ice Xtreme 2 rad....I finally got in all The parts for My WC system and can't wait to install tomarrow.
I have 4 "Quiet" fans to put on the rad and I'm hoping for great temps with lower noise/speed fans in push/pull as opposed to some delta screamers on just one side.

Lazien

EDIT: I will say that I love My CM Stacker like no other case I've ever had so I whole heartily recommend it.

Here's what I concluded about fitting a triple rad in there.

Since each 120mm fan take up 3 bays, the rad will take up 10 total including barbs. That leaves the USB/etc panel and room for one CD drive. Hah. I have 2 HDDs that need to fit in there too. It seems like the Stacker would have to be heavily modded, as my Sonata already is. I am really contemplating taking out all the rivets tommorow and going crazy with satin black on the interior.

I really want to test my board, because I can't tell if the NB was damaged by the stock heatsink. It looks like a corner might be chipped off the Intel NB, but I can't really tell. Is a chipped corner death of the MB?

You can also look at the Thermaltake Armor which has an additional 3 slot hard drive cage sandwiched next to the power supply.

First of all you can definately fit a tripple radiator into a Stacker. You just cannot mount it the way you are thinking about (in the front where the 5.25" bays are). You have to mount it either at the top or the bottom of the case. If mounted on top (which I would recommend) you would have to cut three 120mm holes on top, to allow for the fans to blow air.

Here is a picture so you can see how its done.

And 2nd of all. You can definately make the Stacker quiet, by just using low speed fans, a quiet power supply, and possibly case dampening material if you really think its too loud. Certainly it won't be as quiet as a Sonata or a P180, but it still won't be loud, just will be a little bit more audible than cases designed for silence.

Short answer - The CM Stacker is not the case for you if you want a quiet case. It's only if you need server-quality storage and top-of-the-line ventilation.

That Chenming is huge, but that is what I was originally looking for in the Lian Li server cases like the PC-71. My only beef with that case is the extreme use of 80mm fans. I am a 120mm fanatic (pun :) ).

I got my Sunbeam 0-12V rheobuses in today (2 of em!). I also got in all my black 120mm and 80mm fan grills (80mm for PSU mod, 120mm for radiator and all other grills), my wire sleeving kit, 2 fans to replace the current PC Power & Cooling fan + mod, and ... some tubing inserts for my WC setup!

Yay Jab-Tech.

Yes you can!! The PSU isn't sleeved to the end. There's a few cm of bare wiring showing. ;)
Wanna sleeve my PSU? :D

Umm, I don't get it? It doesn't look -that- clean to me. Maybe I'm just crazy.

But nice Stacker with triple rad. I think I'll end up doing the same thing, although I wanted to mount my PSU up top like normal, and the radiator on the bottom.
