This is it, I am about to do some cutting ...

Which should I do:

1) Remove top PSU mount and cut 3 holes for 3 120mm fans, and all the mounting holes. Mount the three fans blowing out, sucking case air through the radiator and axhausting above the case. I would have to create a custom plate to cover the hole left by the removed PSU mount. PSU would be bottom mounted. Also, the square hole for the top 80mm blowhole would end up creating a void between the front two 120mm holes, and there would not be a void between the second two.

2) Cut a 'radiator shaped' hole on the bottom of the case, with the tabs for mounting holes. Mount radiator with 3 120mm fans in pull - sucking outside air in from below the case (on casters) and exhausting inside the case. Allow the rear 120mm exhaust and the top 80mm blowhole to exhaust this air. PSU is still top mounted.

I am about to cut, I just want a final bit of guidance.

Even though it's going to leave a weird looking hole connecting two of the 120mm holes? I guess the only thing I can do to fix that is to match it on the other.

Now it's time to make a new backplate, drill 12 rivets, ... drain the loop :(

The first option sounds best with the hot air being exhausted upwards.

Just dont do #2 with the fans exhausting air and powerful fans. It may take off :p

It's installed!

I have the radiator and fans mounted up top, 3 black 120mm fan grills (looks nice), both fan controllers, cd-rw, dvd, sata, pata, and floppy all installed. The PSU is also mounted. The pump has 4 suction cups and it sitting on top of the 3 - 4 HDD rack - a perfect spot!

So all that I have to do is install the mobo, hook up the misc front panel wires, route the PSU, etc etc and refill. I might wait to refill until I get down to Austin this Saturday. Since it is already empty right now ... and I have yet to pack anything, so I might not get a chance to mess around with it.

I am going to swing by an automotive shop (Pep-Boys) to get this really cool trim to outline the hole I cut for the radiator. It will give it a cleaner look, and allow some padding.

Soon.

PS - You're gonna be a Lifer really soon. Weird because I've been here longer

I've had a life for longer! ;)

Hah. But you've had less of a life while here ... and that more than cancels out my longer existance!

Anyway, I've been meaning to confront you about something you said in the WCing thread by JD (or JB?). You said, "Since you are that new, go with the Black Ice Pro 3". What's wrong with the BIP3?!

Only newbies use it? Bah.

The BIP3 is easier to get.

In front?! Sure, it would fit there, but then you'd only have 1 or 2 open bays. I have 2 fan controllers, so that would have left me with 0 CD-RW, 0 DVD, 0 Floppy, and 0 HDs.

i only have 1 fan controller and 1 dvd-rom, i hardly ever use the dvd-rom so im going to either get an external one or just put this one in an external case. so i should be good to go.
the hdd's can still fit in there just fine, right behind the rad.
