CM Stacker 810 vs Lian Li V1000B vs Lian Li V1100B ?

I have narrowed it down to these three cases. My priority is cooling, then silence. I want a case which will give me the highest overclock on air.

Which is the best case for just sheer airflow without being to loud ?

Yes I know about that, I am on that too. I want to really know how does the Stacker compare against the Lian Li's. I haven't seen too many comparisons of the two.

I bought the CM Stacker 810 last week. I had it for two days, then returned it. The reason was not that it was loud, or that it didn't cool effectively. In fact, it's extremely quiet and cools better than anything I've ever had. The problem that I had with it is that the PCI slots are out of whack! As basic and as stupid as it sounds, Cooler Master royally screwed up on this part. For some odd reason, they're actually halfway outside the case. I plugged in my pci cards, and was amazed. First off, they're extremely difficult to get in and out due to how the pci slot cover inserts into the case (it's kinda hard to explain), but more importantly the screw holes are too far outside the case. With my motherboard screwed in nice and tight and straight, the pci cards couldn't be screwed in, as the hole was far enough away as to make the little bent part of the pci card block it. I would show some pics to better illustrate what I'm saying here, but the case is already on its way back to newegg. In short, don't buy the case. I went to performance-pcs.com and got their Lian Li PC-7B, which is actually better than the V1000 which I also considered, the reason being that for a little extra, they'll drill a 120mm blowhole in the top of the case, allowing for three 120mm fans. It's cheaper, and with the mod, cools better. But even if you don't like that one, stick with Lian Li, they've never disappointed me in the past.

Could it be that you got a bad Stacker ? I like the looks of the Lian Li's a lot, but something like the Stacker has great cooling out the box, no mods. The mods they offer at Performance PCS are great, but can add up quick....on top of the already steep prices of the Lian Li's.

I don't think I got a bad stacker. After seeing what was wrong with the pci slots, I looked at the case to see if I had, in fact, simply gotten a messed-up case. But the pictures on the side of the box itself showed the same thing. Go with the Lian Li, seriously.

I am looking into the LL cases too, it's just that the Stacker seems like one of the best cooling cases out of the box.....no modding. I have not time and am too lazy to mod a case to have better cooling. I just want one that works right away.

Ok I am working out a deal with my girlfriend to buy me a case for Xmas....hopefully the Lian Li.

Which one I don't know ?

The Lian Li PC-7B here can have one 120mm intake and with performance pc's blowhole mod, support two more 120mm exhausts, just like the 810. I just bought mine, should be here probably next week (hopefully earlier). I'll let you know how well it works.

Nope, I had the 810 but I returned it and ordered a Lian Li earlier this week. The reason I went with the PC-7 over the V1000 (which I considered) is that I think it has better cooling than the V1000. Think about it: the front 120mm fan on the V1000 is directed only to the hard drives, and is completely blocked off from spreading cool air to the motherboard components, so really the video card and cpu and stuff only have 1 exhaust fan to take care of all the cooling. That's not very much when you think about it. Whereas the PC-7 has two (or in my case, 3) 120mm fans, and they are all used for cooling the cpu and motherboard components.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811112077 apparently that Lian-Li has excellent airflow... any "PLUS" series should be good for you (I have a V1100B Plus, and I love it).

How do you like your V1100 ? How well does it cool ?

It cools fairly well. With 1 optical drive, 1 250GB 7200.8 Seagate HD, 1 7800GTX, and a 4400+ X2 at 2.4 Ghz my idle temps are:

ambient temp: 70F
Mobo: 34
CPU: 37
GPU: 46
HD: 35

This is completely stock, I'm adding an Yate-Loon inside the chassis to get more airflow from the intake (almost completely blocked by the hard drive), switching the orientation from my back fan to exhaust (it's intake stock) and adding a Zalman CNPS9500 on the processor to create something like a windtunnel. I think my temps are fine now, but it would be nice to have a little more headroom. I'm doing all this this weekend, so I'll let you know how it performs afterwards, although I think it performs fine right now.

I am thinking of getting the V1100B Plus. I just ordered a 9500 too. I am thinking about having Performance PCS add a 120mm blowhole in it and the temps should be fine. I was also thinking of skipping the plus model and instead having Performance add a 120mm door fan in addition to the blowhole.

Which would give more cooling....the blowhole and the plus, or skipping the plus and getting a blow hole and a door fan ?

Yeah at that point I may as well go back down and get the V1000B and save a few bucks on the silence thing with the V1100. Also if I do that with the V1100 like I said 'll just skip the whole plus package and go for a 120mm fan blowing on everything.

If you can wait a couple of days, I'll tell you how my temps are with my tweaks. My case has a bunch of wires that need to be cleaned up to increase airflow, which will probably drop degrees another 1-2 degrees.

I have an X2 3800 in a P180 case, witha Sl120 heatsink. I have it clocked to 2.75Gb. My temps are : Idle - 38C and Load - 47C. Not bad at all.

I am trying to get some better temps in my Pentium 820D rig. I want a case that cools as well, if not better as the P180 with a little more quality. And is at least almost as silent. This makes me go back and forth between the V1000 and the V1100. Sometimes I figure if I put all the extra fans in I am going to defeat the whole purpose of the V1100 and it's silence. Maybe I should get the V1000 and add a blowhole and a side door fan ? That combined with the perforated case on the V1000 and that should kill the P180 for cooling.

Well, I ordered a V1000B Plus with a blowhole added. That's four 120mm fans with the CPU cooler. That should be cool, probably cooler than my P180, especially with the perforated case and all.
