Hi all, new poster here.
As the title states I can't get the hot swap bays to work. I have an
ASUS P8P67 Pro MB. I plugged the SATA cables into the SATA 3GB/s ports on the motherboard. I plugged in the molax connector to the hot swap bay.
I enabled hot swap in the BIOS. I have double checked and triple checked the connections to make sure their okay. I am stumped, I hope someone can give me an idea on what I am doing wrong:confused:

Never used one, but here's some info from Coolermaster:

Question

How do I use the front hot-swap bays?

Answer

The bays should be gripped from the sides and gently pinched together to release the tray. Once the tray is removed, the hard drive can be screwed directly to the tray. The tray must be gripped firmly and installed straight in to contact the rear backplane. SATA cables are directly attached from the backplane to the motherboard for a direct connection.

So...based on that, I'd say you need to ensure that the drives are properly engaging the "backplane" for good contact.

If it looks like they are, your next best step is to contact Coolermaster:

My bays work, and I am currently using both of them. I found that it takes a lot of force to connect them though, so it is possible that you don't have them completely connected.

Thanks for the replies guys. BoomerD, I followed the instructions from CM still no joy. Martimus, I rechecked the connections, and pushed the bay in until I heard a click. Still no joy. So I then said maybe it is a drive problem. I used a different drive, and lo and behold it worked. I will checkout the other drive in a different computer and see if it is okay. Thanks again guys:D

Is that hot swap inner module removable from the HAF X? I'm looking to buy a HAF X, but have no real use for the hot swap, and it'd be taking up two 5.25" bays if not in use.
