CM 690 II Grounding Problem

Was pretty set on this case, as I really like it has to offer but I ran into a few reports of sudden hard restarts when using the control panel on top (USB, headphones/mic jack, etc) which appears to be a grounding problem. I'm pretty knowledgable when it comes to computer stuff, but an utter novice with anything electrical.

It sounds like it's not a difficult DIY fix by running a wire from the panel to a case screw or something along those lines, but can anyone 'attest' to this fix or spell it out for me just a little more explicitly?

I have a 690 (not 690 II) and it happened to me once as well.

I believe this (or at least my scenario) to be more of a mobo or mobo mounting problem, not really the fault of the 690. Using the same mobo, I used to have a far different case (Astone Enforcer), and it happened several times to me while plugging in a USB flashdisk on the front panel.

However, that same case, with a different older mobo, served me well for the past 2 years with an X2 5000+. Never encountered such a problem. That same case now houses a new motherboard, and have never encountered the problem again. I am therefore inclined to believe it was simply error on my part.

Summary:
Old Case + Old Mobo = no restarts
Old Case + New Mobo 1 = many restarts
New Case (690) + New Mobo 1 = happened once
Old Case + New Mobo 2 = no restarts
