If it even works, it is not a good idea. The Coolermaster Extreme 650W is just a relabeled 500W Seventeam. So it isn't good for 650W at normal operating conditions

What are you going to run other than the 2 HD4870s?

I would recommend something like the PC P&C Silencer 750 or the Antec Truepower New 750W or the Antec Earthwatts 750W or the Corsair TX750.

Although you could make due with something like the PC P&C Silencer 610, Corsair TX650, Antec EA650, Antec Truepower New 650

For 2x HD4870 go with one of HOOfan 1's suggestions that includes 4 PCIe connectors.

Hopefully you mean the Truepower New and not something like the Turepower 2.0 or Truepower Trio.

2.0 should be long dead and buried. IIRC Trio wasn't too terrible unless you overloaded it. I was actually looking for a cheap Trio 650W for a while, because it is really "short" and I needed something that small for a tiny build.

but it isn't worth $170 for certain and it doesn't have 4 PCI-E connectors...the TPN does.

It is the truepower new, but the cheapest i could find here is $160. Things here are so expensive.

Don't know where you were looking, but IIRC they (Trio 650W) were available pretty regularly for under $100.

I was saying that I hoped Skurge didn't spend $170 on a True Power Trio...
