I'm going to have to replace my clutch and was wondering what brands are good as far as oem replacements.

the brands available for my application at rock auto are ,RHINOPAC/WORLD CAR, EXEDY, SACHS, VALEO, BECK/ARNLEY, BRUTE POWER, and ACDELCO.

this for a 2004 toyota solara w/ the 4-cyl. 2.4

EXEDY is a very very good brand. They makes the OEM honda clutch disc's that will last over 200,000kms if not abused. The one in my CRX lasted 180,000kms and i beat the hell out of it. I replaced it with a stage 1 Exedy disc and it held up great too.

thanks for the response, that will be high on my list when I do order.

has anyone here used rock auto? I went to reseller ratings and they have a pretty low rating for the last 6 months(3.17) but the lifetime rating is much higher(9.06). did something change?

I've used RockAuto multiple times. Can't beat them, in my opinion.

I also use rock auto. They are pretty good. Bear in mind that they carry good-quality stuff, and shit-ball quality stuff, and you definitely get what you pay for.

Yea. Rockauto is very good. My dad frequently ordered from there. His most recent purchase was a ball joint for a Taurus. Needless to say, before he received it...he passed away.

The ball joint is still unopened sitting on the roof of the car. :(

In no way am I implying the shipping was slow. Quite the opposite. It just happened suddenly.

Exedy also makes the clutch on my RX-8. I beat the shit out of it occasionally and haven't broken it yet. I'm looking forward to replacing it with a stage 1 one day.
