So, 99 Neon, 83K miles...has sat around a lot lately.

When releasing the clutch at the end of the release there is a pop or clunk noise and I can sort of feel it on my foot. The car overall behaves fine otherwise. This doesn't always happen, but once it starts to happen it tends to continue everytime I hit the clutch. Then maybe the next time I drive it, it doesn't do it.

Sounds like an internal problem. Doesn't matter what it is you're going to have to get inside there to fix it.

My plan was to ignore it if it wasn't an easy fix or wouldn't cause other costly repairs. The car is quite driveable, its just annoying.

Hahaha, yeah, I've been quite vocal about the rolling diarrhea that was my Neon. :) You've already got more miles on yours than mine lived to, so count yourself a winner already!
