clutch pedal bushing replacement

slag

Lifer
My son and I did this on the M3 last night. Took out the driver seat, cowling under the dash, and then replaced the bushings. Looked complicated, but after watching a youtube video, it wasn't.

OMG. The difference is night and day. I replaced the stock bushings with some delrin ones and greased everything up like crazy. The end result is the clutch is easier to press, it doesn't grab on the pivot shaft like it used to, and the car is absolutely fun to drive again. Funny how a couple small bushings can make all the difference in the world. Took us about 70 minutes from start to finish which included removing the seat and putting everything back in.

It makes a huge difference! I replaced the one in my MR2 (which was completely gone) with a bearing - it was so worn that the hole in the pedal had become elongated as it wore against the pin. I drilled the hole larger for the bearing and put a new pin in...now it is amazing.

Friend was complaining about how his shifter feels.
