Clutch issue

It happened again this weekend and it was the second time that its happened that I can think of. I had been doing a lot of city driving that day and after dinner my clutch seemed to have no pressure on it. I had to push my clutch all the way to the floor to be able to shift. It only lasted about 30 minutes or so and it slowly returns to normal. Any idea what it might be? My car is a 2003 Nissan Altima with about 117k miles on it.

The fluid gets too hot and causes this.
If you change your clutch fluid to DOT4 the problem will be gone.

How do I know? I had a 2002 Altima 3.5SE 5 speed manual and I had to do that very fix, for that very reason.

Thanks! Mine is just like that but a 2003. I love this car.

I loved mine too... I <3 VQ35. I also had a 2002 Maxima SE 6MT with the HLSD option. The Maxima was a bit more solid, but less fun to drive, and I personally preferred the look of the Altima. One of these days I hope to own an Altima SE-R. Maybe when I can ditch my long work commute (the reason I sold my Maxima)
