clueless on cas2 and spd

i have been told that i should change the ram timming to spd instead of auto. where do i change this??? was looking thought the cmos but could not find it. also i have seen that alot of oc computer put cas2 in there specs. what is that??

specs

Duron 800mhz
MSI K7T pro 2a
Hyndai pc-133 RAM 256Mb
a cooling fan that run at about 5000rpm
V7100 geforce2 mx
20Gb Maxtor Hard drive
fan= avc running at 5000RPM

CAS2 and By SPD are for RAM timings. In your BIOS (not sure where, in Asus BIOS it's under CHIP Configuration) there will be settings for all of your RAM timings. Setting them to By SPD will have your RAM running at whatever its default SPD is, could be CAS2 or CAS3. CAS is a setting for RAM latency, lower is better. Setting it to CAS2 will give you increased performance, but your RAM may not run at the more aggressive timing. You can also enable 4-way interleaving, which again increases RAM performance.

aren't they the same thing?

if your ram is cas3, and you want to run at cas2, disable "by spd" or "auto" such thing and set the timing to cas2 or 2-2-2.

By the way, what this "Interleaving" does exactly mean? I know I have choice of "4 bank interleave" option in setup (3/4 DIMM slots are occupied).
