Clubs/Clubbing

So do any of you guys like to go to clubs much? I went for the first time to one last night with my g/f. Wow I'm sure part of it is my personality, but I don't think I"ll be doing that again anytime soon. My eyes were practically watering from the smoke in the air. I'm pretty sure I got beer spilled on me too. To me it was mostly just people drinking/smoking in a big room with really crappy dance type music playing. The only partially redeeming factor I could see would be scantily clad women inside, but when they smell like booze and cigarettes thats not one I dont think! Tell me what you think, are clubs fun or a waste of time?

I was never into it. I hated getting leered at and pawed at by drunk guys, and you can never hear what anyone is saying. When you get home, you stink.

I prefer to have more intimate gatherings and always have. Nothing like getting some of your friends together for some tunes, maybe a cool flick, and some munchies. Plus, it's much cheaper to buy beer at the grocery store!!!!

(Don't get me wrong... it was fun on occasion to go to a club, but more as a novelty. I like watching drag shows best.)

You just have to hit the clubs that aren't all smoky and stuff. I don't know how old you are, but I, being only 17, go to the teen nights at some local clubs pretty often and make a great time of it. Obviously, drinking is a non-event, and smoking is ver rare as well. I find it's a great way to just let loose, have fun, and meet new people. It's really nice to just ask some girl you've never met to dance, or just start dancing with her and forego the talking, and have your advance returned. It is sweet indeed!

I haven't been out clubbing since the disco days. Most of the local nightclubs still permit cigarette smoking, and I tend to prefer breathing to gagging.

Ahh I've always liked going clubbing.. Although I will admit the clothes smell horrible in the morning from all the smoke.. Hmmm now that I think about it.. maybe I enjoy dollar beer night at the driving range better??

I used to go down to First Ave. in Minneapolis a lot in my single days. Usually to see a band, sometimes just to dance and check out said scantily clad women. Heck, what's better than beer, loud music and dancing with hot chicks?

Well, many things come to think of it. But clubbing is fun from time to time.

They can be fun, some of the newer places have enough "Smoke Eaters" and a ventilation system capable of getting rid of a lot of the smoke. Then again most don't...... There is something kind of cool about going to see a live band and just a mass of people. Though unless with someone, I usually can't take it more than an hour or so.....

Actually was at one last night and had fun.....well up until I accidently kicked a pitcher of ice water off the balcony onto a bouncer..........

I would only go to certain clubs but since most people in this area only like pop/commercial crap dance music clubs the ones that I like never lasted. Also now that all the clubs have to close at 3am I don't really like to go even to the clubs that I like.

You've obviously been to the wrong places. The only scenes in the USA worth going to are Miami, NYC, and maybe San Francisco.

It's different when there's a quality sound system, a top-rated DJ, and state-of-the-art lighting and environmental control systems. Most people who go clubbing smoke like a chimney, but if you go to a quality venue, it is a non-issue. Most places that bear the title 'nightclub' aren't. They're just bars with some a-hole spinning booty rap and commercial dance music...off of CDs no less. Any DJ worth his salt has a pair of 1200s. Real clubbing is a different matter entirely. Sure there's leering drunks, but if you stand your ground and don't take any bullsh|t it's not an issue, and for the ones that get out of hand, tell the bouncers, again, any quality venue has bouncers who will gladly toss out any overentusiastic jerk. In terms of finding a quality venue, go by dress codes. Places with no code avoid....if they have a presentable crowd it's likely to be closer to the ideal...It's kind of difficult to sum up into a coherent paragraph, so just check out the sites below...

I didn't have much fun in some of the clubs I'd been to. Mostly cause I don't (can't) dance. I don't mind going with some friends though and I definitly like looking at the chicks. But I'm not the drunk guy groping girls.

Man, I hate clubs... the last time I went by the time we left (stayed about an hour) I was half deaf and going blind from the nonstop strobe lights... never again!

I went clubbin today! a local club here has "spoiled rotten sundays" for teens 14-18yrs of age, I went with a few friends it was pretty cool alot of people! alot of smokeing alot of security no alcohol/drugs. 3 different rooms with different music generaly the music was pretty good none of that BSB N'sink stuff.
