If it works well we can stop hearing about this HDMI 2.0 thing. Mostly anyway.

Only if it's free...

Pretty much.

Reminds me of the PS3 HDMI debacle "$600 and they couldn't even give me an HDMI cable? SRSLY!?"

When MSFT launched the Zephyr model they put it on the packaging "HDMI cable included!"

Not only this, it doesn't change the fact that it adds to the cost. Also, I doubt the cables are cheap right in this case?
Does it work with freesync?

Really, this is more interesting just for the people who may not have Maxwell cards as a whole rather than to solve the Fury X/R9 Nano being aimed at 4K gaming cards that can do HTPC.

Now, you can use your R9 290, 780Ti, etc. so that's probably more exciting than just focusing on R9 Nano/Fury X, which to me is just ridiculous that they didn't include it.

Would have been interesting to me before, but now that freesync is coming to monitors over 55 inches, I couldn't care less about the traditional TV market. It's dead to me lol. Still will need a projector, if Freesync ever came to projectors..... The things I'd do to make that happen are unspeakable!

Meh, don't care for the HDMI anymore. Getting a freesync TV.

Excited for your Wasabi Mango?
When 4K, 120hz, DP1.3 Freesync 65 inch screens are available, I think I may shed tears.

What is nice though is that for those who want a 4K HDMI 2.0 screen that has a 1080p/120hz option as well, they can now utilize it.

Only 1 so far but I think more will come!

UHD550 by Wasabi Mango is 55 inches.
UHD650 by Wasabi Mango is 65 inches but not available but is supposed to be available at the 55 inch price, and should drive down prices but we'll see.

PCPER review of the 42 inch model. I really shouldn't get the 65 inch model. I should wait or save money or something. The second I see it though, it'll be game over.

We're really moving to the best age of PC gaming soon I believe.

Edit: I think the distinction should probably be made that they are "Monitors" because input of HDTVs are usually higher. These should provide a better experience than we could achieve HDTV wise.

OLED would be nice too one day.

Most of these big Korean monitors are "C/D" or worse panels though with terrible uniformity issues or leaking liquid crystal issues. Generally you don't want to be within 8 feet of those things or you'd notice how poor the panels are. 65"+ are the only practical uses for these displays for gaming so you can sit as far away from them as possible. I recently returned quite a few of these large Freesync korean displays for having worse QC than the cheapest monitors you find at Best Buy. They are mostly crap and use Freesync as the primary selling point for what is otherwise a terrible display.

It's basically a cheap 4K bandaid until 4K OLEDs become affordable.

Pcper was ok with it.
I have no options, so I get what I can to make it happen.

I asked for a Freesync display of this size when Freesync was first announced. I probably made way too many posts mentioning it. All while never believing it would happen.

These displays were being sold without Freesync. In fact, Freesync is an UPDATE to the monitor that you can do via firmware.

Seems like a lot of people are interested in large 4K displays. It may not be good enough for you, but seems a LOT of people are ok with them.
