Clowns pirating DVD's on Ebay!!!

I recently won an auction on Ebay for the Undergrads Season 1 DVDset. I found it for a good price on Ebay so I figured why not. The package arrives today and I notice that first off the dvd case is black not clear[retail ones are clear]. I open it up to see that the disks have printed stink-on labels, not silk screened labels like pressed dvd's. Next I turn the disks over to find a nice purple coloured disk. Then i put the disk in my comp to find out that each disk is exactly 4.7gigs. Finally I put the disk in my set top dvd player and the disks won't play anything but the base menu.

Now first off I could have delt with the disks being made with dvd2one or dvdshrink if they had been ok quality since the price was ok but they don't even work. Sad thing is the printing job this guy did on the labels was amazing and you would think that the dvd copying would have been easy.

Rant ending, please comment on this, I'm really angry now. I have informed him to refund my money or Ebay and Paypal will be ripping him a new butt.

Nope, he had a very good feedback rating. I guess most people aren't a discerning as I am. I want what I pay for.

I'm gonna hold on to that for now. I want to see how he deals with my claim. I told him I want my money back including the shipping.
I want to see how defensive he becomes.

It'd be helpful if you could give us the name anyhoo. No one wants to buy burnt DVDs when they think they're getting the real thing. The fella has already done a big no-no.

What the heck, I don't think I'll get my cash back anyways. force-enterprises is the exact seller ID.
Enjoy!

why not? i bought the solaris dvd once and it was a copy even though his claim was "not copy". i called his ass up and tell him to give me a refund. i got my money back and i kept the copy dvd. His claim was that he is just the seller, not the supplier.

Man, this is the reason why I stopped buying crap on Ebay. Guess I have to get stung ever year and a half to relearn my lesson.

Good choice. Hopefully you'll contact ebay and have them put this seller out of business.

No offence Scope, but it's your responsibility to make sure you are aware of what you are purchasing *before* you shell out the cash. That means contacting the seller directly and asking questions. Questions such as: Is this an original manufactured DVD or is this a copy? Buyer beware. If they are copies, you must insist that they be tested for full functionality.

I can tell it's a burnt disk, each disk is exactly 4.7 gigs, the size of a dvd blank, also the disks are purple, pressed disks are silver or slightly golden. Purple is the colour of the anti-scratch coating they put on dvd blanks.

What really pi$$es me off is that the set is becoming hard to find and this clown has caused me to loose a few weeks in finding a copy.

No offense Rudee but it's illegal to sell pirated copies so I shouldn't have to ask if it is a burnt disk or not. What type of a$inine comment was that.

uh no.

No offense but you sound like a retard.

besides the fact that selling copies is illegal you have the right to expect a legal copy. There is NO defense for the seller giving out copies.

No he should NOT have to contact the seller and ask "Are these illegal copies....." It is against the law for the seller to do what he did.

When you buy a CD or dvd is should NOT be a copy, period.

this sounds far-fetched, but fvck the seller dude, report his ass to the FBI! all kidding aside, internet scamming is becoming a major problem, and unless we lay down some drastic measures, it is not going to stop. i feel like every asshat that scams someone in any way, shape, or form on the internet deserves a public flogging - no, not really, but they DO deserve to be fined out the ass.

no, contacr Crimestoppers first to see if there is any bounty or rewards. Then contact FBI, if they're not to busy arresting mp3 downloaders that cost the industry a bazillion dollars per day.

He's Canadian so I would have to call the RCMP, not the FBI. One of the reason's I bought from him, he's in my country, no duty and brokerage fees on shipping.
