Is there any cloud storages besides Amazon Cloud Drive that don't require a client application installed on your computer?

SugarSync and Dropbox are nice but I prefer web-base interface.

Dropbox has a web interface.

What ever happened to FTP servers?

They're still there.

It's just "cloud" makes it clear that it's a bunch of servers, and not necessarily limited to a single protocol.
Not many people set up personal FTPs, though. Everything needs a clean web interface and service behind it, now.

ssh ftp is the best bet imo, get a dedicated server with raid and linux and you've got yourself a storage box with high bandwidth capacity that's in the "cloud" (internet = cloud in this case). You can also automate stuff, and you can even setup a local mapped drive using sshfs if you want to.

except most people have asymmetric pipes.

I'd rather set up my own FTP server at this point, so I don't have to worry about the **AA's lawyers shutting down whatever free cloud storage platform is popular at the moment.

I didn't get burned by MegaUpload's shutdown, but I did get impacted by RapidShare's throttling. There will be others in the future.
