All nice cloths: flush around the waist and MORE expensive

All Cheap cloths: more ugly, generally baggy, and well, So MUCH cheaper

They do this on purpose to produce a dichotomy and make insecure people buy more shit they don't need?

Or could it be that affluent people are more fit, and so cloths targeted towards them are marked up with higher premiums.

Thoughts??:\

Defining cheap cloths: (kohls), (marshall), (sears), (discount places)

The true conspiracy is dumping textiles on the 3rd world so that they can never develop the industrial base required to bring them through a home-grown industrial revolution.

Right now I'm into ugly baggy cheap and warm and comfortable because wherever I go and however I dress it's me. The penguin needs no tuxedo.

Hmm. yea this is also an issue. wasn't this why india had the home-spun push? 😀

I'm not necessarily agreeing with the OP but I have wondered something similar. Sometimes you go into these cheap clothing stores and the clothes that they are selling have one huge flaw that's so incredibly obvious it makes you wonder what retard got the job to design them. Or they are made of the most ridiculous colors, or the neck is 2x too big or something stupid. I'm pretty sure if you gave me the resources of a mass produced clothing line, I could make some sweet normal everyday clothes and I'd be rich.

I don't do "fashion". The clothes(note the e) I wear looked good 30 years ago, they look good today, and they'll look good 30 years from now. Classics are classics for a reason. Wearing something that you'll look retarded in 2 years from now is a waste of money, and it's likely you'll look retarded even if it is /in style/.

Yes, but not for the reason you said.

Fitting a person properly takes talent, research, and money. Why shouldn't companies who sell clothing that fits better charge more? That isn't a conspiracy.

What is a conspiracy is that clothing manufacturers all get together and make certain that what you buy now will be obsolete in a couple of years. For example, they all go to a color selection convention so that if you buy a new shirt in 2011, it won't match pants you bought in 2010. Thus, you need new 2011 pants too even though your older pants are still perfectly fine. It is best seen in black clothing colors. Even if you are lucky enough to find two pieces with the same black color, the sheen will vary so that you still need to buy both pieces of clothes and not just one. They do the same with dimensions, styling, and accessories.

Really, they still research how to make cuts on shirts these days?? Give the human race SOME credit.. bro plzz..😀

Less material around the waist,, DONE,, they specifically make the mid-section baggy and huge on cheaper clothing.. this is just my cursory observation,, but it's the prevailing theme at discount stores.

Essentially the only thing they need to do to make something ugly into something decent,, is to trim the waist.. of course,, this is under the assumption that your waist IS thinner than around your shoulders..

So, unless we're assuming all low income people are fat,, than there is no reason for them to make these baggy cuts..

Your input on the color convention is very valid. I didn't know they rigged it in this way..

If you haven't noticed, people are getting fatter year after year (and in a lesser extent they often are getting taller/shorter). Someone has to find the new dimensions if you want to fit the new shapes/sizes of people.

Even fat people look better in trim clothing..

Baggy clothing just makes them look MORE fat.. :\

And to all the fat chix out there,, That sweatshirt isn't hiding ANYTHING,, WE KNOW......

People who are concerned with image are the ones who buy expensive clothes. Otherwise, most people will buy whatever is the most comfortable and cheap.

if you put it that way, then you're essentially saying,,

"most people DON't care about image"

This can't be true. 😱
