Closing torrent programs kills my internet

I've had this issue with 2 different computers (same router, though), and 3 different torrent programs (Azureus, Bit Comet and uTorrent).

Whenever I close the program, my internet stops working and only comes back when I reset my router (which takes about a minute). Anyone had a similar issue in the past?

My router is a SpeedStream 5200 (I think the company that makes it doesn't even exist anymore)

Try lowering the amount of concurrent connections your torrent programs are using.
