Closing Properties / Advanced Properties

When I go into properties like the one when you right click on desktop and go properties. I do my settings and change them and then click on ok it somewhat ahngs there and then closes after 4 seconds instead of instantly? Same thing with Advanced Properties?

Any reasons/ideas?

Reason being is it's saving the settings. If you have a slow computer, this can take the 4 seconds as you described.

There may be two more reasons:

1) any virus - scan your comp to make sure
2) This problem can be often related with Windows Explorer and system itself. There is a whole class of register cleaner utilities to improve it, such as

I dont think it is because my computer is slow. Im running A64 @ 2.7 ghz.

Ive scanned it and it comes up with nothing and I have RegCleaner and I clean it about one every one or 2 days.

But when I do fresh install of XP, it goes instantly
