No, the Westwood store is closing!!! Icy Cold, as I've used it as an easy, free parking source! Hopefully some good deals to cover for the loss.

Close out of display merch. only?? At least that's what the article says. I guess the inventory will go to other stores, darn.

I wonder how good the prices are going to be on display items. 10%? 20%

It might be a good time to go get a laptop but if it is just 10% it is not worth it.

Are they advertising this in the papers?

Well i am one not to cry when CC is hurt as they have done very bad things to me as a customer and i keep going back for more punishment. Now i am actually disapointed that the Federal Way store is closing as the Manager there or was there actually fixed what CC corp wouldn't. It seems the good guys always get it in the shorts.

I find that at going out of business sales, the deals are actually worse sometimes then when the store was in business.

I drove by the Omaha store today to get a copy of a reciept and about crapped...."closing due to going out of business" was plastered on the front door. I had just bought an HDTV with a 5 year warranty, and just had a bad feeling about all of CC going under all the way home. Strangley this was one of the first places I looked for info on the closing...thankfully its only 19 stores....

I called the one this morning to check on a dvd player for a friend and the girl told me they were closed today and just found out about it today. She said they were shipping out all the boxed items and the open stuff would be on sale starting tomorrow. Every going out of business sale I have been to the prices were higher than when they were in business. The jack the prices back up to max retail then take something like 10% off, which is higher. When monkey wards went out of business here it was a liquidation business that sold the remaining items.

When they opened the circuit city store here I told them they could not compete with best buy because of the size store they opened. Circuit city opened a tiny half a store and did not do half the business that best buy's larger store did. If you want to compete you either have to think big or stay at home. Best buy's lot is still packed and CC is going under.

This has been planned for awhile now... Its part of their restructuring.....

To those worried about CC going under, dont. They may be closing 20 stores in slow markets, but they are opening up another 65 this year alone.

When I mentioned them going under I was talking about the local store. The local BB is packing them and the local cc is going under as I knew it would. I know the company itself is not.

Just wait until the BBY relocates. I heard its gonna happen in the next six months. They are going to Geist
On the bright side the east Washington mall is getting a cineplex and to large chains are in negotiations to take over the old lazarus and JC Penny buildings. So all is not lost, just change.

Federal Way 34920 Enchanted Pkwy. S. Federal Way, Wash.

It doesn't suprise me at all about this store.
The 5 times I went, the employees outnumbered the customers -- even a day or two before xmas.

OD is in the same "plaza", so I'm sure they'll be next.

A tear shall be shed for the closing of the Cutler Ridge store. Post Hurricane Andrew this is where I rebuilt my stereo system-ironically, open box by open box item. Still have recently found them to be good place for open box deals. But then a BB opened a mile down the road from there, and an OM right across the street, and as someone else said, salespersons outnumbered shoppers even at Christmas. Oh well, it's never good to see a closing, competition is what breeds price savings.

Circuit City was doing real well about a year ago, then they changed the pay system for the employees from comission based to hourly based. They had some employees who actually made good money and they could not stand that. Their profits have been going downhill ever since.
