X4 940s have 2 mb l2 and 6 mb l3, making for a total of 8 mb of cache if you want to total it that way. It's all marketing BS though, just like the people that used to sell Socket A Tbird Athlons as having 384k of l2, when in reality all they were doing was adding the chip's l2 and l1 cache.

Exactly why I bought it, I saw the Price and went :Q Its on sale until tomorrow for $180 bucks, picked mine up in Burbank. I know they have a few left, but that stores customer service sucks. Been to other Frys and it has had better customer service, something about the burbank store that makes employees and customers crazy. Yeah so you have until tommorow.

That is a nice price! Only ~$30 more than the X3 720BE for four cores and still an unlocked multi. Although I noticed that a lot of places are now selling the 940 for $200 so it's not quite as much of a discount as it sounds. Still good though.

NewEgg's had some nice combo deals lately but those are only good if you want a motherboard to go with it (more specifically, if you want one of the combo deal motherboards to go with it).
