I had a WD 80gb go dead on me, so I RMA'd it. Yesterday I went out and bought a new Western Digital 80gb drive, installed it, and then installed Windows XP Pro. I'm thinking everything is fine when I've got it all installed, then I look at drive C and it is showing 7.52gb of free space. wtf?? This is the same crap that I was dealing with when the other drive was supposedly dead. It would only show up as an 8gb drive, the only difference is that this drive is working as an 8gb drive and the other one wouldn't even boot. What's going on??

Edit- In any case this means I am going to have to reformat this thing again won't I?

Double Edit- This is really beginning to aggrevate me. In the BIOS it shows the capacity being 80gb, in windows the capacity is 7.52GB. Is it just maybe that I didn't have it set correctly in the BIOS as far as Large, LBA, etc. are concerned? I had it set on Auto. Installed Windows 98, before it installed it did a format, then installed Windows XP and instead of upgrade I chose complete, or whatever it was, and now here I am....
