Close Calls to War

Simple question...
JFK avoided war, WW3 with nukes and all, by being very smart and more so "wise" on how they handled that crisis back in 1962.
With so many countries now trying to develop nukes, and maybe already having them, do think Bush is smart or wise enough to avoid WW3???

You KNOW if one if these new to nuke countries releases just one in war, it will be the beginning of WW3 and it WILL be a nuclear WW3 no question about it!

With Bush's " shoot from the hip" cowboy mentality, I really doubt he'd handle an attack or be able to avert WW3. All hell would break out.

One thing about the USSR back then, they like us cherished live, their kids and wanted a future safe for all. Today, its kill your self and everyone else to get to those, what ... 73 "virgins" of a reward. They really believe that!

Just an observation on my part as gas hits $3 a gal and tempers heat up in N. Korea and Iran.

Thats the problem with a nuclear game of chicken----you assume one party will have the good sense to back down. We already know GWB does not have any sense at all--now it just takes one more nut.

Everyone should have nukes. Not just nukes but ICBM's, lots of em. An armed society is a polite society. Especially so when talking about armageddon.

Those two big elephants in the room (China and Russia) prove that. We don't mess with them, they don't mess with us.

I can?t believe it, but you keep telling us how everyone should have nukes.

You?re putting millions of lives on the line under the assumption that suicide bombers wouldn?t use nuclear weapons if they obtained them. You?re ignoring the very words from Iran?s leader. You?re also ignoring history about what should be done to hostile forces before they become vastly more costly to kill.

You can hide behind ignorance that we?re only stereotyping the entire Middle East, but it only takes a single nuclear weapon to be detonated by a single bomber. Iran?s leader has made it very clear his messiah must be brought about through world war 3, as he intends to cause it for the advance of his religion.

Yet all you can possibly do is tell us how wrong and horrible our own country is when we take a blow and start taking swings back at those in the Middle East who have sworn our deaths.

While you don't really ask any legitimate questions in your OP, other than asking us if we think Bush is stupid, Zebo's comment on arming everybody and comparing it to an armed society (Americans with guns), can be somewhat accurate, except he failed to take into account that many nations wouldn't pass a background check.
