Cloning SSD to SSD

I need to upgrade from a 64gb Crucial M4 with Windows 8.1 Pro to a 120gb Crucial M500.

I am planning on using Clonezilla to do this unless there is a better tool to use?

Also this should be no problem right?

Anything else I need to know? Other than deactivating my RSLogix activation before doing so =).

Clonezilla should work fine. I had some trouble with it the last I tried due to bad blocks - ended up using dd from the linux cli instead. The only trick there is figuring out which drive is which.

But once you do, it's a single line and there are cli flags to ignore read errors and things that can trip up clonezilla.

Once you clone to the new drive, you'll need to expand your partition. (Disk Management.) You can do that live, no sweat.

Clonezilla should work, just make sure it starts on a 1MB offset to align the partition.

Clonezilla disk to disk worked fine and it seemed to get the offset or whatever right (made AS SSD happy).

Performance is better on the M500 over the M4 \o/ (but seems low compared to other systems) but really I needed more space.
