does drive image allow you to just copy the drive or does it make you install a bunch of bloatware?

reformating and installing only takes me under 2 hours so its not a big problem

The simplest way is DriveCopy 4. Same source as DriveImage but much cheaper and easier to use. It is OS independent . . . has no problems with NTFS. You can even copy single partitions. Isimply clones one drive to another.

If you try it, create the two diskettes and always do it with them (bootable.) That way it is never involved with your OS and doesn't really care. Takes about 20 minutes to completely clone a 40 GB drive . . . and when you are done they are exact duplicates to include file optimization and location.

I have Drive Image 5, but find DC much easier and faster and you don't have to deal with any .IMG files afterwards.
