cloning a laptop harddrive

so i'm upgrading my 30gb notebook HDD to a nice 80gb one. setup:

30gb in my laptop, 80gb connected via external usb 2.0.

i'm trying to basically move everythign to the 80gb drive.

i've tried using norton ghost, but for some reason it won't use usb 2.0 and says it'll take like 6 hours to transfer. i tried loading the usb2.0 drivers but then it doesn't work at all.

any softwares you guys can recommend or ways to carry out the migration?
