Cloning a HDD

I have a HDD that is making bad noises but is still running OK. I also have a blank, unformated HDD.

What is the best way to clone the old HDD and transfer that info to the new drive.

I have a dvd writer on the machine

Ghost or True Image.

Yep, I would try and ghost it as soon as possible. I use Acronis True Image myself, and works well for me.
