I had a friend clone me his OSx86 drive. He tried to boot it on his machine, and it worked out fine for him. I tried to boot the sata drive on my machine, but it just hangs on "verifying dmi pool data" when I try to boot.

We have identical hardware other than the power supply.
GIGA-BYTE GA-EX58-UD5/i7 920

I've tried playing around with bios settings but no luck there.

I've been trying to figure this out forever, but it just wont work.
Help will be very appreciated.

Replace sata cable.

Seriously.

I replaced a hard drive that I thought had failed because of this exact error, when I took out the old one the sata connector fell apart in my hand.

Also set BIOS to fail-safe defaults.

There is no safe mode.

To the OP, I am 99% positive that just cloning an OSx86 install will not cut it. Since OS X uses an EFI instead of a BIOS then you need to emulate that. I highly recommend moving this to the All Things Apple section, you will find plenty of people there that will be willing to help you out and they are all much more knowledgeable than I am about this.
