Clone PS4 hard drive

Has anyone used clonezilla to clone the ps4 hard drive to a larger hard drive?

I've read clonezilla works, but I'm wondering if the extra space will be seen by the ps4 or if the partition size will still be the original 500GB.

I know I can redownload everything but that will take many many days.
 
I'm not sure what the partition type is for the ps4 os. But if clonezilla can clone it to a new drive without requiring you to wipe it then I don't see why the system would not see the extra space.

I have a 1tb hd in there now.
 
u wanna clone a drive? use Acronis WD edition
have a wd drive plugged in,it doesn't have to be involved..

Some drives won't work in the ps4. I bought one they used in the Ign video review. Someone else had a Samsung spinpoint and the os installed fine on it but it would not boot in the ps4.
 
You can backup your saved data to an external drive via USB and then copy it back over to the new HDD once you get it installed and the PS4 is up and running.
