OK I bought a copy of clone cd on ebay, and it is now registered as a full copy...

I tried the registry edit tweak to amplify weak sectors (changing amplify weak setting in the registry from 0 to 1) but the feature doesn't appear to be turned on.

Question 1: How many places does that registry tweak need to be done? I have modified it in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER, software, Elaborate Bytes, Clonde Cd, settings folder location. Is there another place to modify it?

Quesiton 2: About how long does it usually take you to make a clone-on-fly or what ever the direct cd to cd copy is supposed to be? Mine just took and hour to copy Madden2002 (504 MB) and is registered and should thus be unlocked (non demo).

You don't have to worry about the amplify weak with you plextor. I'm not sure how good your DVD drive is at reading but the time would depend on that. I can usually make backup copies of my games in around 5 to 10 minutes at 24X. I am guessing you should be at 15 to 20 minutes.

Answer to 2:

It depends on what the game your copying is protected with. If it has read errors it could take hours to copy the game if not it could take minutes. For more in depth questions and answers visit www.cdr-info.com. They always post the latest downloads for clonecd and have a dedicated forum to the subject.

FYI: Best settings to always use
For reading:
fast error skip (0 read retries)
audio and data subchannel reading

For burning:
don't repair subchannel data

I agree with fishingeek about not having to use amplify weak sectors.

BTW I use the Lite-On 24102B

I'm trying to primarily burn EA Sports games like MADDEN 2002. But I now have a bigger problem...

I clone the CD to an image, and then try to load the image to a CD. But the buffer goes to 0, and then the comptuer freezes, in the middle of the burn. After having to press the reset button it then does a disk integrity check, and after several freezes Win XP fails to be able to boot.

I had to load my ghost image to recover the system. I'm glad I did it recently...

Any ideas?
