The clock on my taskbar seems to lose about an hour everyday.

The internal clock is correct. My machine is only 6 months old. Gateway, PIII, W98.

Is this a serious problem. Anybody know how to fix?

I just had this problem. My problem was a 3rd party screensaver (ie. one not shipped with Win98). Just disable it and try it again. If time is still wrong, check the bios' clock. If that is off, chances are your motherboard battery is dieing.

Slikkster, good call. In fact, when I posted this I realized that it did not start happening until I did a Live Update of my Norton Antivirus software.

Never would have dreamed this would cause this prob. Gonna try to run the fix. Thanks a bunch!!

CyStar, I'm hoping for the best!! Though it's under warranty, sure don't want the headache of dealing with tech support.

That's why I started here first!!! Thanks again!

The Norton patch solves the problem. Haven't lost one minute since installing the patch.
